Okay so after 2 nice weekends in a row I think it’s time to start planning a beach trip, which got me thinking. Which beach is the best? To answer that question I had to set up a few parameters; it had to be in the continental United States, it couldn’t be a tourist spot (more of a hidden gem type of place). That’s it, what… I’m not picky. So here’s my list of the top 5 beaches in the US;
1. Barefoot Beach Preserve County Park, Bonita Springs, Florida
8,200 feet long and located in a 300+ acre park, Barefoot Beach has calm surf, shallow water and fine sand. Perfect for laying out or enjoying the water. I promise this place won’t disappoint.
2. Outer Banks, North Carolina
Far offshore from mainland NC, the Outer Banks provide for some of the best surfing along the East Coast. It offers endless stretches of desolate, soft sand beaches to forget about civilization for a while.
3. Beachwalker Park, Kiawah Island, South Carolina
Located at the southern end of Kiawah Island, Beachwalker Park is perfect for anyone wanting to explore nature. Walk the dunes, paddle the tidal inlets or just post up on the long stretches of Carolina sand.
4. East Beach, Santa Barbara, California
Santa Barbara is known as the American Riviera, and East Beach doesn’t disappoint. It’s a four mile stretch of beach that has plenty restaurants, volleyball courts, and picnic tables for a perfect day out in the sun.
5. Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
No list would be complete without Cape Cod and Coast Guard Beach is the perfect example. Accessible by shuttle or bike the beach has picturesque duns that slope into refreshing waters, ideal for a summer dips.
So if you’re not ready for a vacation now, I can’t help you. Go back to your cubicle and work yourself to death because you’re a miserable person who cannot be cheered up…. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, I just got carried away. But seriously, summer is coming and you need to be prepared for the good times that lay ahead, and hopefully this helped!
